UPDATES DEC 21. 2021 CO-OP DEFENSE MODE

A new defense mode is coming to CO-OP soon! Form a party of 4 and defeat monstrous waves and defend your base camp for awesome prizes!

Outline

  • Defend your base camp utilizing structures and objects within the map.

  • A party of 4 players will play together in this co-op mode and your party will receive a letter grade based on waves cleared, HP left on the base camp, clear time, and remaining party members at the end.

  • Difficulty level will adjust to the users allowing everyone to feel a sense of accomplishment.

  • A total of 5 waves of monsters will come. Your job is to defend your base camp through all the waves but beware as it will get more tense and difficult!

    • Note you must have cleared up to World 4 in order to unlock Multiplayer → Co-op

How to Play

  • From Adventure → Multiplayer, click on Co-op 'Defense Mode'

    • Original Co-op mode and the new Defense modes will rotate every 2 weeks.

    • There will be a help icon in the lobby where explanations on Defense mode will be shown.

  • Once you enter, you will be able to join Co-op Defense Mode and form a random party of 4.

    • You will also be able to 'Enter with Code' or create custom matches in which you and your friends can participate together (as available in Co-op mode).

  • Co-op 'Defense Mode' Entry Time will be the same as regular Co-op Mode.

    • Entry Time: 16:00—23:59

  • You must protect the base camp located in the middle of the map from waves of monsters that spawn at random from magic circles. When they appear, types, and number of monsters that will spawn will differ per wave.

  • Players can enter all paths that monsters move around in. Note there are 2 floors (upper and lower floors) on the map.

  • There are various structures and objects in the field you can utilize to make your gameplay more fun and strategic:

    • Slingshots: Hook and sling over to the other side of the map.

    • Jump Platforms: Jump far to the other side.

    • Portals: Teleports you from a waypoint to another; both heroes and monsters can use portals and they are one-way portals only.

    • Turrets: Two turrets surround your base camp to help you protect against waves of monsters. Turrets can also be destroyed by monsters, so we recommend you to utilize them to effectively block monster waves. Once Turrets are destroyed, monsters will circle around and aim for your base camp.

  • There are various types of monsters and each comes in different shapes and strengths!

    • Some monsters attack base camps from melee or range. Some attack turrets or self-destructs near your base camp. Some attack heroes directly, so try to understand each type of monster to better your strategy.

  • Check the mini-map to check icons that represent different types of monsters: self-destructive monsters, ranged attack monsters, and hero-attacking monsters.

[Winning Condition]

  • All waves of monsters are defeated.

  • The main base camp located in the middle of the map is not destroyed when time's up.

[Losing Condition]

  • All heroes are defeated.

  • The HP of the base camp goes down to 0.

  • There are more monsters spawned and surviving in the field than the max allowed number of monsters noted per wave (via in-game UI).

Loot

  • If you successfully defeat a 'wave' of monsters, you will be led to the "Loot Selection" screen.

    • Once you select your loot, the pop-up window will close.

    • Please mind the timer. A random loot will be selected if you do not make a choice within the time limit.

    • If there are monsters left on the field, loot window will open after a certain time.

  • There are different grades of loot which give different effects (attack, defense, special boosts):
