COMUNICADOS MAI 10. 2024 DEV'S NOTE: TETIS HERO WAR IMPROVEMENTS

Hello to all the Guardians who love Guardian Tales,

This is Boogang Kim, the Executive Director of Guardian Tales.

Today, I would like to begin with an apology for the shortcomings of our new single content, Tetis Hero War, and to share the direction of improvement in the future in this developer's notes.

After the Tetis Hero's War (The Tale of the Tetis Hero beta) was released on April 30 for global release, we have confirmed many shortcomings in various aspects such as the lack of fun in the content itself, the inadequacy of AI battles, and the limitations in planning/systems. As a person who creates games, there is no excuse for the fact that the implemented game is not fun. There were many shortcomings in my judgment and decisions from the planning of the content to the final deadline, and as a result, I am deeply sorry for presenting content that fell far short of your expectations. 

For a long time, we have been addressing Tetis Hero War to become a core content, and I am well aware of how much you have been looking forward to and waiting for it.

During the beta period, we keenly feel that many areas need improvement. We will re-examine the direction to ensure that Tetis Hero War can establish itself as a core content, actively considering Guardians' opinions across the globe and striving to continuously enhance the completeness of the content.
 

 

■ Direction to take for Tetis Hero War

1. Actively intervene in battles to make each play enjoyable.

2. Utilize various heroes to lead battles advantageously and increase satisfaction with raising the heroes.

3. Variables big-and-small will come into play, allowing for a variety of experience in each match.

4. Provide a playtime without burden, ensuring no pressure in joining a match.

5. With simple stamina consumption content, find the right balance between clearance and challenge.

The direction of Tetis Hero's War remains as stated above. However, it has been judged that the gameplay elements were somewhat arbitrarily set to achieve this direction. To address this, we will boldly redefine the rules of the game and the focus of battles, and through significant AI enhancements tailored to the content, ensure that players can fully experience it.

 

■ Changes to Game Rules 

We plan to exclude fundamental rules such as the forced use of various heroes based on day attributes or stamina management, which greatly restrict party composition and item selection, thus raising the barrier to entry for the content. By opting for a more streamlined party composition and allowing for easier hero usage, we aim to change the game rules to enable smoother and more casual gameplay. 

 

■ Changes to the Focus of Battles 

We aim to exclude forms of battles where players must build strategies based on the composition of enemies appearing in each stage, as there is no correct answer, and mistakes can lead to significant frustration. Instead of heroes instantly defeating enemies, we will reshape battles into more conventional forms, allowing heroes to fulfill their roles within battles. We will simplify the characteristics of enemies and reconstruct them in a way that facilitates understanding of their attributes.

 

 ■ AI Enhancement Tailored to the Content

We will enhance the AI's behavior patterns to be more intuitive for Tetis Hero War. As the focus of battles changes, enemy attack skills that significantly impede the movement of AI will be minimized as much as possible. Through these improvements, we aim to ensure that troops operate as expected by journalists and that heroes engage in battles in a manner befitting heroes.

Now that the content has just been closed for the first time, we may not be able to swiftly embark on significant changes. However, we aim to accelerate improvement efforts and gradually enhance the content.

As a first step, we are preparing the following improvement schedule:

■ Phase 1 (May 14 update for global) 

We will ease the attack difficulty by reducing the attack power of monsters that perform instant attacks.

To alleviate the difficulty of stamina management, we will strengthen the recovery items for stamina.

We will display the number of The Tale of the Tetis Hero Coins in the shop that was previously missing and add a shortcut button to the shop in the Tetis Hero War UI. 

 

■ Phase 2 (May 28 update for global) 

To reduce the burden of stamina required for Sweeping in Tetis Hero War content, we will pre-apply a significant increase in the supply of Rift currency planned for Season 3 and expand the level cap to 100. 

 

■ Phase 3 (Season 3 Update) 

We will restructure the monster composition to prevent strategic battles that require only the correct answers.

We will enhance the AI to ensure that heroes engage in battles suitable for Tetis Hero War.

New products will be added to the shop, and efficiency will be improved.

ㄴ *The Tale of the Tetis Hero Coins acquired during the beta period will be reset at the end of the beta period. 

 

■ Phase 4 (Tetis Hero War's Second Story) 

We will complete the improvement of game rules and overall content enhancement and proceed with the official opening.

The second episode of the Adela Kingdom will be added.

I previously committed to showcasing several captivating core contents. However, I must extend my sincerest apologies for falling short of your expectations with the content presented. 

In addition to the feedback already provided, we are thoroughly reassessing various aspects and discussing strategies for improvement. Furthermore, it's not just Tetis Hero War; we are continuously developing all our content based on your invaluable feedback, reactions, and gameplay data. I am determined to ensure that Season 3, which I had promised, not only meets but surpasses your expectations, providing utmost satisfaction.
