News Post
Hello, this is Director Robin.
In this letter, we would like to share more detailed information about upcoming updates.
We’ll be introducing the long-awaited Grade 6 Hero Myth system, as well as various new content expansions that come along with it. We hope you’ll take the time to read through the details below.
Grade 6 Hero “Myth”
Starting with the upcoming major update, the Grade 6 Myth system will officially begin. New heroes will be able to grow even stronger through Myth, not only with visual upgrades but also with newly recorded voice lines that bring their transformations to life.
Myth can be performed using a “Myth Stone” on heroes who have already completed Limit Break. Upon reaching Grade 6, heroes will gain a red star mark and unlock a new “Leader Skill”.
When a “Leader Skill” is used, a unique cutscene exclusive to that hero will be triggered, dealing powerful area damage and granting a temporary buff. The buff applies to all allies within the same area, and depending on the content, it may be applied without the cutscene.
The Myth Stone required for Myth can be obtained from the newly added Myth Dungeon in the Rift. After clearing a side story, completing the Level 100 Challenge Stage of the corresponding type will unlock the Myth Dungeon. Each day of the week allows entry to different types of dungeons, and on Sundays, all types are available, so we recommend planning your strategy accordingly.
In the Myth Dungeon, you can obtain Myth Stones, Hero Crystals, Gold, and EXP. We hope this allows you to more easily gather the resources needed for Hero Limit Break.
Additionally, once a hero undergoes Myth, their maximum level will be expanded, their stats will increase, and the “Myth Awakening Nodes” will be unlocked. Some of the special nodes unlocked through Myth will require a new resource called the “Latent Awakening Stone”.
In a future update, the maximum level of the Awakening Dungeon within the Rift will be expanded to Level 150. You will be able to obtain “Latent Awakening Stones” in the higher difficulty range of the Awakening Dungeon, specifically from Level 110 to 150. Additionally, Latent Awakening Stones can also be acquired by synthesizing Legendary Awakening Stones.
Myth will be gradually applied not only to newly released heroes but also to existing Rare and Unique heroes. Among them, Eunha and AA72 will be the first to receive Myth. We’ve prepared a feature called “The Myth Compass” that will allow you, our Guardians, to directly experience the Myth process—so we hope you’ll look forward to it and show your support.
Leader Skill Mechanics
Leader Skills are being implemented in a way that fits the characteristics of each type of content.
1) Arena, Master Arena, Friendly Match, Death Match
In these PvP modes, Leader Skills will not trigger their exclusive cutscenes, and the buff duration will be relatively short. Because PvP involves strategic timing and intense combat between Leaders, cutscenes have been excluded.
2) Guild Raid, Boss Rush
In these modes, the buff duration is approximately twice as long as in Arena. You’ll be given enough time to chain your weapon skills and chain skills after using a Leader Skill.
3) Adventure, Co-op Expedition, Colosseum, Kama-ZONE, Orbital Lift, Co-op, Co-op(Defense), Expedition
※ We are considering turning Co-op and Co-op(Defense) into event-based content in the future, and Expedition is planned to be reopened once optimization issues are resolved.
For content with longer battle durations, the buff duration is significantly extended. Players can strategically choose whether to use the Leader Skill early to gain the buff quickly or save it for a specific monster encounter.
4) Colosseum, Kama-ZONE, Orbital Lift, The Tale of the Tetis Hero
In auto-battle content that starts immediately, the buff is activated at the beginning of the battle.
An exception is The Tale of the Tetis Hero, where all heroes appear as Leaders—thus, Leader Skills cannot be used in this content.
Grade 6 Exclusive Equipment
In a future update, AA72’s Blue Spear and Eunha’s Infinite Change will become eligible for Grade 6 Evolution, which requires a new resource called the “Red Shard”.
Equipment evolution can be carried out even if Limit Break and Engraving have not yet been applied.
Once evolved, equipment will not only change in appearance but also see increased values for some of its obtainable options.
A new dungeon, the “Red Shard Dungeon”, will become available after clearing a new Side Story and completing the Level 100 stages of the Gold, EXP, and Item dungeons.
In the Red Shard Dungeon, players will be able to obtain Red Shards, along with Magic Metal, Gold, and Strengthening Hammers.
Maximum Level Expansion
With the introduction of Hero Myth and Equipment Evolution, the maximum levels of both heroes and equipment will be expanded.
Heroes will be able to level up to Level 100 by default. Each Hero Limit Break increases the level cap by 3, and each Blessing increases it by 5. Through Myth, an additional 20 levels are unlocked—allowing heroes to reach up to Level 150.
Equipment will similarly gain level expansion: each Limit Break increases the level cap by 5, and Engraving adds another 5 levels. Evolution grants an additional 20 levels, enabling equipment to grow to Level 150. As levels increase, stat gains will be gradually adjusted.
Additionally, the availability and farming difficulty of Evolution Stones and Awakening Stones will be rebalanced. The Evolution Stone Dungeon will see its drop rate increased by over 35% at Level 100, enabling faster Evolution Stone farming. The Awakening Dungeon will be expanded to Level 150, and from Level 110 onward, Golden Car will appear, increasing the drop rate of both Legendary Awakening Stones and Latent Awakening Stones.
Grade 6 Myth for 2-Star Rare Heroes
2-Star Rare Heroes will also gradually become eligible for Grade 6 Myth. Starting with Rare Heroes that feature a unique enough setup, we are preparing them for Myth step by step. We will provide a more detailed schedule as development progresses.
Hero Release Order & Direction
While preparing for the major update, we’ve paid close attention to the feedback you’ve shared—especially regarding hero balance, which we deeply agree with.
As the current Grade 6 heroes revealed so far are all ranged types, we will ensure future releases include a balanced mix of melee warriors and tank heroes. Furthermore, we will continue updating existing heroes with Grade 6 Myth so that even less-utilized heroes can return with renewed strength and see more use in gameplay.
The Tale of the Tetis Hero Improvements
The sweep system in The Tale of the Tetis Hero will be improved for greater convenience. You’ll be able to sweep stages using Tetis Hero Tickets, which are automatically recharged daily. Sweep rewards will be based on the highest stage cleared through manual challenge, and the amount of rewards obtained will also be increased.
Guardian Base Camp System Improvements
The Guardian Base Camp system will become more accessible. Now, instead of requiring World 3 to be cleared, the Base Camp will be unlocked immediately after clearing a Rift Dungeon with a 3-Star Hero. In addition, the level restrictions will be significantly relaxed compared to the current requirements.
About the Art Process of Guardian Tales
Lastly, we’d like to share a few words from the Art Team.
[Art Director]
Hello, I’m the Art Director of Guardian Tales.
Many of our Guardians have asked about how our artwork is created. We want to clarify that all artwork in Guardian Tales is 100% hand-drawn by our Art Team, and no AI (artificial intelligence) tools are used in the process.
We’ll be sharing the concept art and creation process of upcoming heroes as follows.
As shown in the 8th developer’s letter, we’ve been doing our best to deliver a variety of content and stories as quickly as possible. However, there were shortcomings and mistakes during the preparation process, and we sincerely apologize for any concerns this may have caused our Guardians.
For the upcoming Myth illustrations of existing heroes, we are working to strike a balance—preserving each hero’s unique identity while presenting them in a new and exciting light. We will continue to do our utmost to enhance the art quality of Guardian Tales so that our Guardians can feel truly satisfied.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this long developer’s letter.
We’ll continue to prepare diligently to meet your expectations in the next major update as well.
Thank you.
With gratitude,
Director Robin
