ANNOUNCEMENTS APR 7. 2025 [DEVELOPER'S LETTER] DIRECTOR ROBIN'S 8TH LETTER

Hello, this is Director Robin.

As we prepare for a major update that the Guardian Tales team has been working on for a long time, I wanted to be the first to share our excitement with you.

What I’m about to introduce is more than just an expansion of content — it marks the beginning of a new chapter in the story of Guardian Tales. In this letter, I’d like to talk to you from a developer’s perspective about some of the key updates we’ve been preparing.

We’ve poured a lot of thought into each part of this update, always wondering what our Guardians might be thinking and hoping for. I truly hope that our intentions come through, and I’d be grateful if you could read this letter to the end with interest.

※ Please note that the following information is a draft prepared to help players better understand the upcoming content. Details such as content names and images are subject to change during development.

※ The update schedule mentioned here is based on the Korean server. The timeline for the global version may differ depending on circumstances.

[April 29 Update]

World 21

The story of La Ventura, a city built upon the ancient technology of a lost civilization, will be revealed with the April 29 update.

In this vibrant city of mermaids, Fishmans, and humans living together in dazzling harmony, you’ll uncover the secrets of ancient tech and the people determined to expose its mysteries.

We’ve shared a glimpse of this story in a previous letter — now, it’s finally your turn to experience it firsthand.

Developer's Intent

To prepare for the great events soon to unfold, the guardian’s party set off toward a city deep beneath the sea. This new world was designed with the hope that our Guardians would uncover the truth behind the catastrophe hidden within the witch’s tale — with their own eyes.

Grade 6 Myth

This update brings more than just stat increases—it offers a fresh gameplay experience and new battle mechanics. When a hero reaches Grade 6 Myth, their illustration and pixel sprite will be updated to reflect their growth, and all of their skills will be enhanced. Additionally, new voice lines will be added, and a new action skill called “Leader Skill” will become available.

Activating the Leader Skill triggers a cutscene, deals AoE damage, and applies powerful buffs. We’re also preparing new challenge content to match these changes.

Starting now, all newly introduced unique heroes will be released with Grade 6 Myth available from the start. As for existing heroes, we plan to gradually add Grade 6 Myth through future updates. In the upcoming April 29 update, Eunha and AA72 will receive their Grade 6 Myth, followed by Arabelle and Kamael on May 13.

Developer’s Intent

Grade 6 Myth marks a new beginning beyond the limits of current progression. Many Guardians have already raised their 5-star heroes to max level and often ask, “What should I work on next?” In response, we’ve designed a system that goes beyond simple stat increases—one where a hero’s personality and role can truly impact combat rules. Through strengthened abilities, expanded levels, and the new “Leader Skill”, we hope to reshape the flow of battle. We’ve placed special emphasis on reducing the fatigue of repetitive growth while boosting the sense of accomplishment—giving you the feeling that your raised hero can change the tide of battle and shine across a wide range of content.

Note. The update schedule mentioned in the image is based on the Korean server.

Side Story “Myth” & New Event

In the new Side Story Myth, you’ll encounter mysterious phenomena caused by Red Gemstones and Red Shards—materials used for Grade 6 Myth and exclusive weapon evolution. As this is our first Side Story in a while, we've put a great deal of care into its development. We hope you’ll enjoy experiencing it firsthand!

Additionally, through the new permanent event <The Myth Compass>, all Guardians can obtain “Little Android AA72” and various growth materials required for Grade 6 Myth. We’ve designed <The Myth Compass> to serve as a reliable guide toward Grade 6, and we hope many of you will join in.

Developer’s Intent

Our focus was on embedding Myth into the game’s lore and connecting it to the expansion of the combat system. By delivering the story and materials needed for Myth, we aimed to offer an experience where players can grow their heroes to Grade 6 directly through <The Myth Compass>.

[May 13 Update]

Heavenhold: Guardian Base Camp Enhancement

First of all, we’d like to sincerely apologize for not having provided a proper use for Guardian Base Camp Tickets until now. We are currently preparing an update that will allow any remaining tickets to be converted into Gold. Additionally, we’re working on a revamp of the Guardian Base Camp within Heavenhold to offer a more strategic and rewarding growth experience.

For new and returning Guardians, we’ll be easing the level 300 requirement and providing more opportunities to earn Base Camp points through events and content.

Guardians who have already reached level 300 will be able to use their accumulated experience to enhance Base Camp skills. Mastery Points will continue to accumulate and can be spent to boost various stats based on each hero's role group. Given the variety of stat boosts this system provides, a reset feature will also be included to allow flexible customization.

Developer’s Intent

Until now, excess points could only be converted into a small amount of Gold, and we’ve aimed to improve this limited system. Many Guardians have already reached level 300, and we wanted to offer them more strategic and meaningful growth. By introducing role-based stat enhancements, we’ve expanded the system to encourage deeper, more diverse hero development through the Guardian Base Camp.

[May Update]

※ The update schedule mentioned here is based on the Korean server. The timeline for the global version may differ depending on circumstances.

The Tale of the Tetis Hero

The third season of The Tale of the Tetis Hero brings new developments with the emergence of the royalist faction of the Adela Kingdom. This season’s story centers around the scheming of Minister Norman, who plots a rebellion against the throne. We’ve reworked the season to deliver more strategic combat and a deeper, more engaging narrative experience.

Developer’s Intent

From now on, Sweep no longer consumes stamina. Instead, players will receive three Sweep Tickets per day, allowing you to acquire the Book of Blessing at a pace similar to before. We made this change to ease the burden of choice for Guardians who had to decide whether to spend stamina on The Tale of the Tetis Hero or on growth materials and other content. Our aim is to make your gameplay decisions more flexible and enjoyable.

New Guild Content

We’re currently developing a new system where guilds clash to capture and reclaim various territories — in other words, Guild vs Guild content is on its way. Rather than a real-time deathmatch, this content will feature PvP with PvE elements, allowing for more strategic gameplay. We’ll share more detailed information before the update goes live.

[June Update]

※ The update schedule mentioned here is based on the Korean server. The timeline for the global version may differ depending on circumstances.

Summer Short Story

We’re preparing a special story set during the “Summer Battleball Tournament” — the perfect way to blow away the summer heat!

Your long-time ally and Battleball hitter Rie, along with her friend and rival, the left-handed fireballer Randy, will be inviting the Knight and the Little Princess to join the action.

Developer’s Intent

Through the unique charm of the summer season and this standalone sub-story, we hope to increase immersion while also shedding light on the personalities and stories of characters who haven’t had their moment in the spotlight until now.

[July Update]

※ The update schedule mentioned here is based on the Korean server. The timeline for the global version may differ depending on circumstances.

World 22

To ensure a timely update, we began development on World 22 immediately after completing World 21. Our team is now hard at work shaping the next chapter of the story. In World 22, the story revolves around acquiring one of two key tools needed for the season’s main objective: the Operation to Reclaim Kanterbury Castle. Princess Aisha and her bodyguard Shapira will appear, as the Knight and the Little Princess encounter Flame Dragons, Fire Elementals, and humans alike.

[Post-August Update]

Future Update Plans

The updates for World 21 and World 22 are just the beginning. We’re already refining the synopsis for World 23, and throughout the rest of the year, we have a wide array of content in the works:

Look forward to World 23, a new story featuring special costumes, an unexpected hero’s Side Story, the Dark Immortal visual novel, a Memorial Short Story, new visitors to Heavenhold, Co-op Expedition, and a new hero to celebrate our 5th Anniversary.

In Closing

These updates and plans are not just about expanding volume. Our goal is to enrich the game’s structure and create a smoother, more enjoyable gameplay rhythm for all Guardians. We’ll continue to listen closely to your feedback—what you enjoyed, and what felt inconvenient—as we move forward with development.

Thank you always.

Director Robin
